The UN support plan for the Sahel takes a regional approach to cross-border cooperation for stability and development, and aims to prevent and resolve conflicts, violent extremism and crime; promote inclusive and equitable growth and increase access to basic services; build resilience to climate change; promote access to renewable energy; and empower youth and women as agents of socioeconomic transformation and peaceful societies.
