State of the environment reporting: Institutional and legal arrangements in Europe
The report by the European Environment Agency presents the findings of a study on the institutional and legal arrangements in place across European countries (EU Member States and, at the time, candidate countries), for the purposes of reporting on the State of the Environment. The study sought to separate technical and political issues and to examine how SOE reports function as inputs to the policy process. The review is based on information collected from interviews with people and organisations involved in the preparation and publication of State of the Environment Reports. Future Zoï staff was responsible for interviews in Bulgaria, Romania, Czechia, Slovakia, Hungary and Norway.
